About Us

A Daughter-Congregation

Our story started with a Bible Study. Faithful Christians began to gather for food, fellowship, and to study God's Word together. Over time, they began to long for an Anglican church in their community. At the same time, Light of Christ Anglican Church (Georgetown, TX) was praying each week to plant a church in a nearby community. Light of Christ heard that longing, and after much prayer and discussion, commissioned on of their priests to serve Greater Elgin.

For nearly a year, Father Adam travelled to Elgin, giving pastoral care, baptizing, and having Eucharist. On November 11, 2025, Father Adam and Micah were officially commissioned to plant Saint Nicholas, and were presented with a chalice (the very one we serve with at Holy Eucharist), as a symbol that though we are separated by distance, we are one body.

What We Believe

Saint Nicholas is a part of the Diocese of Fort Worth and the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). We affirm the ACNA's Fundamental Declarations:

As the Anglican Church in North America, being a part of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of Christ, we believe and confess Jesus Christ to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no one comes to the Father but by Him. Therefore, we identify the following seven elements as characteristic of the Anglican Way, and essential for membership:

1. We confess the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation, and to be the final authority and unchangeable standard for Christian faith and life...read more

We worship in the Anglican tradition—coming because the Lord invites us, listening for the voice of Christ in Holy Scripture, feasting at Christ’s table, and being sent out into the world to love and serve the Lord.
